All of the Herringbone Connections designs are based on a collection of techniques using four-bead tubular herringbone. Students will learn to start and end herringbone ropes and create a unique "connector bar" made of seed beads and Delicas. Fire-polished crystals, tiny bead caps and leaf charms accent this lovely design.

Full color step-by-step instructions are provided. The instructions also include techniques for adding an accent bead at the beginning, end, or in the middle of a herringbone rope.

Additional inspiration pieces will be shown and discussed in class. Students will get a feel for other effects that can be achieved with the same techniques, as well as ideas for designs of their own.

How difficult is it?

Some bead weaving experience is needed for this design. You should be comfortable with using small seed beads (Japanese size 15º) and should be able to maintain a consistent tension with needle and beading thread. The instructions cover tubular Ndebele (herringbone) stitch, so you don’t need to know that particular stitch.
