Pattern Information |
Ndebele stitch (also called herringbone stitch) is a wonderfully versatile bead weaving technique. In this design, it is worked in a tubular form that produces a narrow, flexible rope. Start with Japanese cylinder beads, then switch to sparkling fire-polished crystals to form flower-like clusters. Work a short rope for a bracelet, or a longer rope for a necklace. Detailed step-by-step instructions with color photos are included. |

How difficult is it? Some bead weaving experience is needed for this design. You should be comfortable with using small seed beads (Japanese size 15º) and should be able to maintain a consistent tension with needle and beading thread. The instructions cover tubular Ndebele (herringbone) stitch, so you don’t need to know that particular stitch. |
